The Headway Blackpool Wyre & Fylde branch was formed in 2010 when our Patrons Ian and Karen Kendrick’s son suffered a brain injury and was not able to travel the distance to other Headway groups or branches. Seeing the unmet need for a place that brain injury survivors could meet in Blackpool, the charity was formed. Since our initial creation we have grown from strength to strength becoming an independent registered charity in 2014. The trustees for the charity now consist of Katherine Smith and Jonathan Young. The committee is made up of individuals from a number of backgrounds including care work and brain injury survivors who are our “experts by experience”.
We provide support, social activities and information for people suffering from an acquired brain injury in the Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde areas.
