Local Blackpool business; Woodhouse Opticians, have chosen Blackpool Wyre and Fylde as their Charity of The Year.
Woodhouse Opticians situated on the Highfield Road will use all their fundraising activities during 2020 in support of local people with brain injuries, a cause that is close to their heart.
Sukie Woodhouse, Director of Woodhouse Opticians said “We chose Headway Blackpool Wyre & Fylde as our charity this year because we wanted to support a local charity embedded like we are in our community, who might really be able to use the funds to good effect. Having heard of the amazing support Headway gives to Blackpool families and the passion the members have, coupled with the connection of head injury and sight it seemed like a perfect fit. We are proud to support Headway Blackpool with our fund raising this year!”
Marie Sloan Chair of the Board of Trustees at Headway Blackpool said “We are delighted that Woodhouse Opticians have chosen us this year. Fundraising such as this is vital to the services we provide to local people with brain injuries.
We offer drop in sessions, advice, support and perhaps most importantly provide a safe space for brain injury survivors and their carers to meet with others in the same situation.
We hope to work together with Woodhouse Opticians to support any future fundraising activities they may have planned throughout the year.”
