Samantha Ashcroft is Finalist in Enterprise Vision Awards

Headway Blackpool Wyre and Fylde’s Coordinator Samantha Ashcroft has been announced as a Finalist in the 2022 Enterprise Vision Awards.

Samantha is a finalist in the Charity of the Year category of the awards, which celebrates excellence in the not-for-profit sector across the Northwest.

Samantha is coordinator of the charity Headway Blackpool Wyre and Fylde who provide free services for local people with brain injuries and their carers. The charity provides a weekly drop-in centre, at The Freedom Centre on Langdale Road, Blackpool, as well as day trips out, social activities and a specialist group dedicated to carers. Headway not only provides weekly meetups but Sam is also called upon to advocate for her members with letters in support of benefits funding applications and legal claims and provides key information to health providers on behalf of members.

Samantha said “I’m over the moon to have been nominated and make it to the finalist stage of the awards. Working for Headway Blackpool is hugely rewarding and I can see first-hand the difference the charity makes to people’s quality of life.

To be in a category with so many amazing charities is very humbling. My aim is to raise the profile of the charity so more people living with a brain injury in Blackpool and the surrounding areas can access our free services.”

Judging the awards is a mix of public votes and judge votes. Winners will be announced at the awards final at Winter Gardens on Friday 23rd September.
